Harkaway Club Vacancies: Committee Membership & Sponsorship Secretary

The Harkaway Club was originally founded in 1902 to promote Polo and Show Jumping, but has held a point-to-point meeting at Chaddesley Corbett since 1925. As one of the UK’s key early season fixtures, the Harkaway Club’s late December meeting regularly attracts large competitive entries and bumper crowds.

To help us maintain this success and embrace new opportunities, we are looking to appoint new members to our Committee, as well as a new Sponsorship Secretary.

Committee Members

The Harkaway Club Committee leads a large team of volunteers who help to manage over 200 entries and thousands of spectators. From stewards, vets and doctors, to racecard sellers and car park officials, there’s a lot to organise!

The Committee also manages sponsorship, advertising and media relations, as well as hosting a website on behalf of all the events at Chaddesley Corbett Racecourse.

If you’re point-to-point savvy, would put the interests of the Harkaway Club first and can contribute to our plans for the future, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Sponsorship Secretary

Point-to-point racing is a prestigious sporting occasion, with our event typically attracting the equine and rural communities, as well as families enjoying a great day out. This in turn provides a valuable audience for our sponsors and advertisers.

As Sponsorship Secretary, you’ll establish and manage relationships with both major brands and local businesses. You will help us maximise traditional income streams such as event, race and fence sponsorships, as well as exploring new opportunities such as website advertising and others you may identify.

If you can combine a passion for point-to-point horse racing with exceptional commercial and entrepreneurial acumen, please get in touch.
